Throughout the eighties (and intermittently ever since) much of my work as a painter took as its subject matter topics emerging from the theatre. I became closely involved with numerous theatre and dance companies at that time, including : The Medieval Players; Actors Touring Company; Trickster; The Kosh; The Cholmondeleys; Paines Plough; and many others, as well as making drawings and/or paintings of numerous individual performers such as Jack Klaff, Mark Heap, Max Wall, Ivor Cutler, Michael Mears.
